GlaxoSmithKline starts testing swine flu vaccine
LONDON — Drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline says it has started testing its swine flu vaccine in humans.
Glaxo says it plans to conduct 16 clinical trials of its swine flu vaccine in more than 9,000 people in Europe, Canada and the United States. It expects to have early results in September from its first trial in Germany. Those data will be shared with drug regulatory authorities so they can make an early decision whether to license the vaccine.
Both Europe and the U.S. have fast-track approval systems for the swine flu vaccine, to ensure the vaccine is available as soon as possible — and before complete safety tests are finished.
Two other major drugmakers, Novartis and Sanofi-Aventis, began testing their swine flu vaccines earlier this month.
Diarhrea, TB more deadly than swine flu in India
Aug. 14 Bloomberg
Tuberculosis and diarrhea-related diseases kill more people each day in India than the total number worldwide who have died from the H1N1 virus. Don’t be alarmed by swine flu, authorities say.
Mumbai and New Delhi residents rushed to purchase face masks after India recorded its first swine flu death on Aug. 3, prompting the federal government to advise the general public against buying them and creating a shortage for health-care workers. Daily media coverage of the fatalities, currently at 20, prompted India yesterday to ask broadcasters to exercise restraint and not create panic, Times of India reported.
“People intuitively overestimate the risk of rare events and underestimate the risk of common events,” S.J. Habayeb, the World Health Organization’s representative to India, said by e- mail. “This has happened with the novel H1N1 influenza virus.”
Data point to low virulence of H1N1 compared with diseases such as avian influenza, deadly in three out of five cases. Swine flu has killed about 1,500 people since the outbreak began in April, less than 1 percent of the case total, the latest WHO tally showed. An average 1,250 people die each day in India from diarrhea-related diseases and 1,000 from tuberculosis, according to a 2006 report by the Geneva-based organization.
The mortality rate from swine flu “is quite low,” William Aldis, assistant professor of global health at Thailand’s Thammasat University, said by phone today from Sylva, North Cina. “It’s such a joke when you compare it to anything else that people choose not to worry about.”

In India Swine flu panic spreads faster than virus
Associated Press
NEW DELHI, India — The streets of the western city of Pune were half-empty, schools in Mumbai were ordered closed, and people suffering aches flooded hospitals across the country as India confronted dueling outbreaks of swine flu and swine flu panic.
Twenty people have died from the flu here, according to government numbers available Friday, and 1,283 have been confirmed infected in this nation of 1.2 billion people. But fear of the flu has outpaced the virus itself.
"The amount of frenzy or hysteria is totally disproportionate to the overall reality of the disease," Dr. Jai Narain, the head of the regional communicable disease office for the World Health Organization, said Friday.
Breathless reports of swine flu have dominated India's 24-hour news channels desperate for stories amid the August doldrums. That in turn has helped whip the public into a frenzy, even in cities with relatively few cases of flu.
In New Delhi, where no deaths have been reported, people have begun wearing surgical masks in the street. In Lucknow, parents demanded their children be tested.
"Over 1,000 people lined up at different hospitals. ... Eleven of them tested positive," Dr. R.R. Bharati, a top health official in the northern city of Lucknow said earlier this week.
In Mumbai, the country's financial capital, the government closed all schools and movie theaters, hammering the Bollywood film industry over the long Independence Day holiday weekend. The government also asked malls in Mumbai to tone down their traditional holiday sales to keep away crowds.
The nearby city of Pune is India's worst affected, with 12 of the country's 20 deaths.
There, the streets were half-empty, the usual crowds shunned the shopping malls and many workers stopped showing up at offices. With schools closed, worried parents kept their children shut inside.

Pentagon Wants Authority to post 400,000 military personel inside the U.S.
By Matthew Rothschild, August 12, 2009
The Pentagon has approached Congress to grant the Secretary of Defense the authority to post almost 400,000 military personnel throughout the United States in times of emergency or a major disaster.
This request has already occasioned a dispute with the nation’s governors. And it raises the prospect of U.S. military personnel patrolling the streets of the United States, in conflict with the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878.
In June, the U.S. Northern Command distributed a “Congressional Fact Sheet” entitled “Legislative Proposal for Activation of Federal Reserve Forces for Disasters.” That proposal would amend current law, thereby “authorizing the Secretary of Defense to order any unit or member of the Army Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Navy Reserve, and the Marine Corps Reserve, to active duty for a major disaster or emergency.”
Taken together, these reserve units would amount to “more than 379,000 military personnel in thousands of communities across the United States,” explained

The Phony 9-12 Project and StuntBrain
Teleprison.net

There has been a great deal of hype circled around Glenn Beck since he was put into the fascist FOX frenzy. As a growing record number of American citizens are waking up to the realities we are facing in terms of our future, Glenn continues the dis-information campaign of the mainstream media. What else should we expect from a figure who's paycheck virtually has New World Order on it.Let's explore some of the ideologies that ol' Glenn is marketing to the people.
First it was the "I am going to cover these FEMA camps because I can't debunk them" episode in which he came back and said that he wasn't going to cover them. Now he is back saying that with the help of James Meigs, he will debunk them. So wait a minute Glenn . . . are you are saying that you are going to debunk them before you even research them? The most comical thing is Meigs' role in this debunking effort. Meigs was a senior editor who helped launch Entertainment Weekly Magazine. He went on to serve as executive editor at National Geographic and then editor-in-chief, vice president for Premiere which is a movie magazine that is no longer in print in the United States. He has also written for Rolling Stone, Details, and Outside magazines. His Hearst Corp. bio seems to try to prop up his lame, unsuccessful attempt at debunking 9/11 facts as a technology columnist. Read here
So Glenn Beck has teamed up with a phony journalist who's specialty is in the movie, pop culture, entertainment business who was completely unable to debunk the truth about 9/11 to tell us FEMA camps aren't real and that anyone who doesn't believe them is a conspiracy nut. Keep reading and you will see just how mindless Mr. Beck thinks that his listeners really are.
So the ARMY . . . are they just a bunch of conspiracy theorists?
ARMY Emergency Management Program
Civilian Inmate Labor Program
U.S. Army Continuity of Operations Program Policy and Planning
Non industrial Facilities for mobilization
Some conspiracy theorist must have come up with HR 645
The 9-12 Project
On the website that has been put together by Beck & Co. it reads at the top of the page:
"The 9-12 project is designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001.
The day after America was attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States, or political parties. We were united as Americans standing together to protect the values and principles of the greatest nation ever created."
The day after 9/11 is where we need to be as a nation? What about an actual investigation? The project should be called 9/12: The Investigation if it were truly a patriotic movement. But instead he is continuing the MSM mind screw. After all Glenn Beck thinks his listeners and TV audience are all mindless humans. We looked up the to see who owns http://www.theglennbeck912project.com/ and we came up with "StuntBrain" owned by former Clear Channel Executive Producer Mike Opelka who according to the Huffington Post donated money to the Bush Presidential campaign in 2004.
We go to StuntBrains website to check them out and on the front page reads this message:
"Brains are a commodity - some even claim that our resources in this area are rapidly dwindling. Apparently there is a market for extra brains. That’s where we come in, we’re Stuntbrains. People who think for those that cannot, will not or just do not think."
Did it really just say that? So basically we are just so mindless that we need people to create our thoughts for us is what they are saying. No, they just want to keep us all occupied on half true bits of information while the military ramps up for engagement against We The People. It's weired . . . the mainstream media is now telling us to go and protest, while the ARMY ramps up for riots .
On the sight it is full of quotes from forefathers and slogans like "Stand up and lead" and other mindless phrases. Stand up and lead what?
Come on Glenn, remove the puppet strings and do some real news reporting instead of joking around with the future of our country . . . start being a real person and a real patriot. Until then you are nothing more than a controlled puppet and the new world order as your ventriloquist. What happened to your love for America and freedom?
